THREE MORE SONGS on the PLATE

It’s every night, almost. And every day too, almost. Gigs are on the books, with practice between. They practice, and practice, and they’re still not done – that’s axiomatic. It’s incessant, unrelenting, but when you’ve got to flex, you flex.

DESCRIPTION

Four figures occupy a a typical, broken down New York street corner in Forest Hills, New York, late 1970s. Connected by direction, posture, dress, and intent – all in silhouette. The environment is transitional, as the times were: a space between movement and arrival. The real performance is just living in it.

The image draws from the visual language of urban myth, where the ordinary meets the cultural shift. No spectacle here, just alignment – individuals moving toward a shared point in space and time. You can witness it as pure scene, or as a reminder that something can be made from nothing, always.

Within the BwahT system, this work belongs to the Emergent Myth category: moments where nothing appears significant, yet everything is ripe for reformation.

Three More Songs on the Plate is for those who love friendship, good-fun punk, blue jeans and leather, black steel-toed boots, street romance, nightlife, and anyone who knows the particular joy of variety.

Originally, a small oil painting done on cold-press board.
