DESCRIPTION
Early evening settles over a sleepy little beach town. A house looks suspiciously down on a small group of local hooligan street-urchins on wheels, rolling toward the boardwalk as the day winds down.
The rhythms of the beachside community are mellowing for the evening. Our skateboarders move through it all unconcerned with schedules or responsibilities, seeking only the rush, the joy, some tasty waves, a cool buzz. A local and ritual moment for boys who are headed to check if there’s surf, knowing that even if there isn’t, they’re exactly where they belong. Roots and routine ritual cut mustard like nothing else.
Down by the Boardwalk sits comfortably between urban vague-realism and surreal storytelling, inviting viewers to notice the quiet strangeness that lives inside ordinary streets. A small slice of coastal life. Movement, rhythm, youth, and the strange feeling that everything has stories to tell.
Within BwahT mythology, this work sits between Urban Myth and Watcher Mythos, where everyday life becomes a network of attention – fragmented, directional, unevenly distributed. The act of seeing is the subject.
