LOVE, LINE, and LEGACY (Jeanne and Amadeo)
Lines define, lines connect. That connection is relation – one line to another, they bond. Like that of partner, lover, friend. We all draw those lines with each other. We all connect in some way.

DESCRIPTION
This Buried with all his Teeth posterprint called LOVE, LINE, and LEGACY began as a paper line-drawing. Here, artist Gregory Evans engages with an artist of fame – entwined through sight with his star-crossed muse, his lover, his model, his everything – through intimacy and gesture. This is a love story rewritten.
The Jeanne and Amadeo Modigliani of this world bore little of calm, loving romance, and though they did have passion, it was a volitile passion, an extreme passion, an angry passion. I’ve rewritten their relationship by removing those extremes.
In LOVE, LINE, and LEGACY (Jeanne and Amadeo), two figures exist in relation, defined through line rather than detail. The simplicity of form emphasizes connection over realism, echoing modernist traditions while remaining distinctly personal.
This work sits within Legacy Myth, where influence, relationship, and creation intersect.
The figures are not only subjects – they’re who we are, or who we might be.
Originally done with pen-and-ink on printer paper.
